A series of specialized activity nodes, community business sponsorships, circulation routes, programmed surfaces, and architectural spectacles as urban planning strategies will rejuvenate the Red Hook are into a bike culture center. Part of the core proposal is a bike storage facility that expands upon the laundry mat storage system and celebrates the animated, mechanical nature of bikes, using the storage as an event and shelter for public gatherings and activities. Currently limited by underdeveloped transportation infrastructure, Red Hook will grow slowly from improvements for its residents to a destination for outsiders.
