In a research studio in conjunction with the facilities and real estate department, algorithmic studies in organization systems from computer scripting help illustrate how temporary and flexible organizational frameworks as alternative urban strategies may address the complex, changing needs of a large urban site over time. The studies propose a scaffold system urbanism where temporary structures, infrastructures, and activities can evolve by increasing or decreasing in density to respond to the different phases of the University of Pennsylvania’s post industrial waterfront development.
